Final Walk Through x2!

I apologize for the lack of updates lately! We have had a very busy past week!

Last Monday we had our final walk through. We met at the house with our PM, a representative from Rite Rug, our realtor, and my Mom as well. Lets just say we were highly disappointed with the condition of our home. It was no where near presentable as it should have been. The carpets were stained, numerous bumps under the carpet, countless drywall issues, very wavy siding, damaged cabinets, front door painted the wrong color, dent in our garage door, a missing mailbox, just to name a few… After addressing the issues we found our PM made a list of items to be corrected/replaced. We explained to him we were unhappy with the condition of the home and to call us when it is in a "New Home" condition. He assured us all of our issues would be addressed and corrected by the end of the week. Closing was to take place Thursday, and we were supposed to get our keys Friday but we put off signing the final paperwork of the home until our issues were resolved.

Our PM stayed in touch with us over the next few days to update us on the work that was being done to the house.

Friday we met at the house again for our "Final Final Walk Through"… MUCH better! The house looked and felt like a new house! Our PM did a great job getting things done in such short period of time. The carpet was replaced, the bumps in the carpet were gone, (They were from a bad batch of padding, our padding was replace and upgraded at no cost to us!) most drywall issues corrected, the house cleaned, siding repaired, cabinet doors and mailbox ordered, etc. Our PM was en route to catch a plane later in the afternoon so we had a very limited time to look over things. Afterwards, we double checked a few drywall areas of concern and saw they were a little better but still did not look as well as we had hoped. Yesterday we addressed these issues with the PM who will be covering for our PM while he is on vacation. He took a look at the house yesterday and again today. Once again we have delayed signing our closing paperwork until we have the items fixed. We
are hoping the third time will be a charm so we can finally move forward and move into our new home.

Overall the house looks soo beautiful. I am so excited to move in and enjoy our new home!
